Cheryl Lynn Reeves Sims was born in Birmingham, AL to Walter and Bettie Reeves. Lady Sims is the elder of two children.  She received her formative education in the Jefferson County (AL) school system.  A proud alum of Tuskegee University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  Having a desire to serve others through nursing, Lady Sims attended and received a Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from Lawson State Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama.  She would later go on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing Education.  Her nursing degree has afforded her the opportunity to work in the areas of hematology/oncology, both as a staff and clinic nurse, as well as a case manager. She currently works as a Clinical Documentation Specialist at the University of Alabama Hospital – Birmingham. Lady Sims is a member of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc.

Lady Sims started her early years of discipleship with Bryant Chapel A. M. E. Church in Birmingham, where she served as an assistant Sunday School teacher, Sunday School pianist, Assistant Superintendent and worked with the Youth Ministry.

God blessed Lady Sims with a wonderful and loving husband to compliment who God created her to be.  Together she and Pastor Sims work tirelessly in ministry at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Because of her love for children and her passion for ministry, she continues as a youth Sunday school teacher.  Lady Sims has worked with the Sunbeams of Praise Dance Team Ministry at Pine Grove.   She is her husband’s greatest “cheerleader,” supporting him in carrying out God’s vision for Pine Grove.
